We are delighted to announce that Fagner Gastaldon will be joining us on stage as our second performer for Twinkle Twinkle. Fagner is a multi award-winning puppeteer and co-founder of Puppetsoup in Wales, with whom he has created the 5***** show ‘Land of the Dragon – Gwlad y ddraig’, ‘The Memory Keeper’ for the RSPB, ‘Fix Freddie!’ for the NHS, ‘Jack’ and, currently, ‘Arthur the Bear King’ for tour in 2017. Fagner began clowning and puppeteering for children in hospitals in Brazil whilst studying a degree in psychology and this inspired him to pursue his passion for puppets full time.
For us at Touched, we really wanted to create an early years show that placed two men, rarely seen in work for these audiences, at the heart of our story. Fagner’s brilliance in puppetry and background working sensitively with young children will bring a new dimension to the puppetry, playfulness and heart of Twinkle Twinkle – we can’t wait to begin our work together.
We had a brilliant time creating giant puppets from Brunswick past and present with the children and families at Brunswick Festival last weekend.
Maz from Will’o’the’Wisp said she thought it was the best parade they’d ever had!
A Place of Safety, a multiartform installation of work created by young people through ArtAid, has now finished at the Artists Open Houses Hove Trail.
We were thrilled to get so many visitors and such lovely feedback: a few extracts from our comments book:
“Great ideas, and technically brilliant. Fantastic stuff!”
“Lovely thoughtful artwork”
“A real inspiration”
“Interesting, inventive, imaginative – these works would not look out of place in a Brighton Uni grad show.”
“I like the lightsaber the best and wish I could take it home” (W, aged 9)
